Alternative Fuels For Your Automobile

Gas prices are obviously alarming the public and as each day goes by, with a few cents rising – it is expected that we will soon be paying $6 to even $8 a gallon in the future. If you remember when gas was once $1.50 a gallon, you would most likely never think inflation would rise at such a high rate. Luckily, there are alternative fuels for your automobile. You can use Liquefied propane gas, turkey or even dirty diapers to fuel your car! This may seem far-fetched but there are quite a few people using this type of fuel to get their car from point A to B. People from all around the world have been coming up with different ways to create an alternative fuel for their vehicle. If you are someone who simply can’t afford a Prius, or you are worried about purchasing your next battery for your Prius – you may want to read up on this. Listed here, we have some weird and useful alternative fuels available for your car.

Liquefied Propane Gas

Also known as LPG, this is one of the cleanest fuels available. Many people are discovering the benefits of this fuel such as the low price and it also reduces CO2 emission. As with other gases, you will not harm your vehicle with this type of gas.  Currently, there are 1,520 stations which use only petrol for vehicles. The USA government fully supports this type of gas and therefore they will be investing to add new stations in the future. By 2015, it is estimated that the Petrol station count will rise to 5,000.

Coffee

Yes, there is a way to utilize old coffee grounds for your vehicle. Some people use coffee grounds for printer ink or dyes. Although you have to go through the gasification process, you can still use this as a fuel for your car.

Diaper Power

Believe it or not, you can use disposable diapers to fuel your car. There are practically millions of these sitting in landfills. Some of them have been around for 400 years or more. Roughly 30,000 pounds of diapers is equivalent to 5,000 pounds in Biodiesel fuel.

Turkey

Currently, hundreds of turkey plants are practically throwing away valuable left overs like the bones, fat and feathers. One company called “Changing World Technologies” has used Turkeys as a way to create alternative Turkey based Biofuel for vehicles. They have even found a way to take the waste from other livestock animals and transform it into cleaner, alternate energy.
